Saint-Cyprien (Catalonian: Sant Cebrià de Rosselló) is a French community in the Département Pyrénées-Orientales within the region of Languedoc-Roussillon.
It is about 30 km away from the Spanish border. The Roussillon is one of the biggest wine growing areas in Europe.
With 325 days of the year being sunny, it is also one of the sunniest areas in Europe.
In the town itself are several bakerys, butchers, supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, barbers as well as a petrol/gas station.
During the summer, there are a lot of possibilities for watersports – diving, fishing, rafting, water skiing, carting as well as surfing because of the strong winds.
About 1 km away from the cottage is a big golf course. In Saint-Cyprien also is a big waterpark.
Saint-Cyprien also possesses a broad beach (100-200m broad). About 10 km further in the South begins a rocky coast, a paradise for divers.
There still are some fishermen in the town, you can buy fresh fishes at the harbor.
Every Tuesday and Thursday there’s a big market in St-Cyprien.
The closest other big town is Perpignan (15 km away) with about 120.000 inhabitants.
During the winter you can do all kinds of winter sports in the Pyrenees.
